Time is so relative.. It's amazing how we consistently consider time to be such a stable metric even though our perceptions of it change so dramatically. Somehow... there is now only 15 days till I leave!! IIt certainly does not seem like that represents half of there being 1 month till i leave..
Most things are in order tho.. I now have my flight to Sydney, my insurance, pretty much everything except the packing of my suitcases is all ready!
I've been emailing a few sharehouses I found on Craigslist. It's pretty cool, I just typed in "vancouver vegetarian" and got HEAPS of results posted in recent days, the houses look fantastic (some over 100 years old!) and the people in the ads really do seem like my kind of folk.. I'm now very confident I'll find a really cool bunch to flat with :)
Job hunting has yet to start.. even getting my resume ready hasn't happened... It will at some point of course.. maybe on the plane :P
The reality of leaving my friends is becoming heavier. There are a few special people I hold very dear to me and struggle to think what life will be like minus their association.. I'll find out soon enough, but it isn't something I'm looking forward too.. :( Whether it be this blog or something else i want to work out a way of enhancing my long distance relationships with my friends..
I've travelled enough before to understand the "Out of sight, Out of mind" inevitability and not take offence to it. But I think that with a decent online presence it's possible to at least minimise how much i'm "out of sight". Then again.. that's part of the beauty of travel and without letting go of it, could logically lead to bad homesickness..
Ok, better go get today's jobs done.. starting with assigning my father as Power of attorney...
